lessons in traffic

“Why did we stop?”

“Because the light is red. When it’s red, it means we stop. When it turns green, we can go.”

“Why are they going when it’s red?” the child asked, pointing to the crossing lane of traffic right in front of our car.

“They can’t see our red light. The only light that they can see is green.”

It was my first lesson in perspective.
